Scott Berger Inducted as Chairman of Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA)

SUMMARY
: Scott Berger was inducted October 1 as Chairman of the Board of Managers of the Mechanical Service Contractors of America. MSCA represents union service contractors throughout the US, as an arm of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA). Berger was inducted at the MSCA’s yearly educational conference in Huntington Beach, CA. Berger is President of Arista Air Conditioning Corp. in New York City.

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 22, 2014— Scott Berger, President of Arista Air Conditioning in New York City, was recently inducted as the new Chairman of the Board of Managers of the Mechanical Service Contractors Association (MSCA). Berger’s appointment was announced October 1 at the MSCA’s 29th annual educational conference held in Huntington Beach, CA.
MSCA is the leading national trade association for HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) contractors, providing education, marketing, and labor/management services to assure its members deliver quality performance, value and expertise for all building system needs. MSCA contractor members perform service, maintenance, replacement, retrofit, and repair work resulting in enhanced reliability, tenant satisfaction and efficiency. MSCA has more than 1,400 member companies and is a subsidiary of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America. (For more information, go to www.msca.org).

MSCA’s Chairman serves as a voting member of the organization’s Board of Managers. Berger’s role as Chairman also involves speaking to local MSCA chapters on behalf of the national organization, promoting the organization’s educational initiatives, and representing MSCA to other trade groups and customer-affiliated groups such as IFMA (International Facility Management Association) and BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association). Berger will also work with UA (United Association), the industry’s union, representing management in discussions about labor issues.
During his year-long term as MSCA Chairman, Berger also plans to accomplish two personal objectives: promoting the HVACR trade as a career, and facilitating the sharing of information and ideas among members to improve the way they operate and serve customers.

“Taking on the position of Chairman allows me to expand the work I’m already doing with New York City’s Workforce Investment Board and with MCERF (Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation),” explained Berger. “HVACR offers exciting and rewarding career opportunities, and I’m committed to getting the word out about these opportunities to young people and those looking for a career change.”

Berger also wants to help HVACR service contractors take their businesses to the next level by promoting relationships and information sharing among member companies.

“My own company, Arista Air Conditioning, has grown to the size we are because we realize that it’s no longer enough to operate based on just experience and instinct,” said Berger. “To improve what we offer to customers and make smart decisions about the way we do business, mechanical service contractors need to be aware of what others in the industry are doing. MSCA offers access to tools and best practices, the opportunity to gain perspective, and the chance to build relationships with talented people in our industry.”

Scott Berger is proud to be chosen as MSCA chairman for another reason. It’s a family tradition. His father, Stanley Berger, held the position from 2000-2001 and also served as President of the MCAA from 2004-2005.

“I’ve enjoyed following in his footsteps by giving back to the industry,” said Berger. “I’ve gained so much through my involvement with MSCA’s educational programs and also from the amazing friendships I have made over the years.”
Berger has served as President of Arista Air Conditioning in New York City for 10 years and has been with the company for 23 years. Arista is one of New York City’s leading providers of system design, installation and service for commercial and high-end residential HVAC and refrigeration. For over 60 years, Arista has been recognized as one of the region’s most respected and referred HVACR experts, and has earned its reputation through trustworthy business conduct and quality service. Arista is an MSCA GreenSTAR contractor. This designation recognizes members for their outstanding commitment to providing energy-saving solutions to their customers and meeting exemplary service standards.
Prior to becoming president of Arista Air Conditioning Corporation, Scott Berger held positions in sales, sales management and operations. He currently holds leadership roles with a number of industry-related organizations, including the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) Board of Directors, Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation (MCERF), and the Mechanical Contractors Association of New York.
